How therapy for stress, tension and anxiety works at La Aurora

Your mind tries to stay in control and make sense of what is happening inside you. And yet you notice that the restlessness does not simply settle, because what you are experiencing is not only happening in your thoughts, but also shows itself in your body and in the way you respond.

Here, it can gradually become clearer what is asking for attention within you.

When your mind and body are telling a different story

Your mind looks for answers, while your body keeps reacting with tension.

When stress, tension or anxiety have been there for a longer time, the body can learn to stay on alert.

A mind full of thoughts and a tense body

Even when there is no real danger, the nervous system can keep responding as if something still needs to be solved or controlled.

This is how a pattern often develops: your mind keeps looking for calm, while your body continues to react with tension.

That is exactly where therapy can begin.

How I work with what you experience in mind and body

You do not have to understand everything first before something can begin to change. In the sessions, we look together at what becomes visible in your thoughts, in your body and in the way you respond.

You do not have to know it all

You do not need to arrive with a full story or a clear explanation. What you are experiencing right now is the starting point.

Together, we look at what is asking for attention in this moment and at what begins to show itself during the session.

I look beyond words

What you tell me matters, but it does not stop there. Your body is showing something too, in your breathing, tension, alertness, shutting down or the need to stay in control.

It is often in those signals that things become clearer which cannot be understood through thinking alone.

Awareness grows in the moment

Change does not only come from understanding what is going on, but also from noticing how you respond while it is happening.

Step by step, this makes visible what your body has been carrying for longer and where more awareness can begin to grow.

The session follows your pace

Sometimes there is more room for conversation and insight. At other times, your system first needs slowing down, safety or nervous system regulation.

There is no fixed protocol. I attune to what feels helpful and manageable for you in that moment.

Change does not have to be forced

You do not have to solve it first before something can begin to shift. Sometimes movement starts as soon as you recognise what is happening and no longer have to be alone in it. A first conversation can simply be a calm exploration.

Which form of therapy fits what you need?

Something may be happening mainly within you, between the two of you, or in contact with others.

Does this way of working feel right for you?

A first conversation can simply be a calm exploration. Together, we look at what is going on and whether this form of therapy feels like the right fit for you.
